Learn To Code Python for Beginners
It's never too early to learn about computer programming! Teertha Segu, local high school senior, will be teaching tweens and teens aged 9-17 how to code using the Python language. This series of four 90-minute sessions is designed for the beginner coder. No coding experience is necessary but basic arithmetic skills will be required (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). Engaging lessons and activities will spark students' interests in coding and encourage exploration and curiosity. Please plan to attend all four sessions, as each class will build upon the previous one (9/7, 9/14, 9/21, and 10/6).

Sensory Playgroup (3 Events)
Our littlest learners will use their senses and tools to explore seasonal sensory bins with their grown up. Families can make a sensory bottle or sound shaker to take home. Sloan Museum of Discovery staff are bringing us a Sensory Exploration Playgroup for families with toddlers and preschoolers aged 0-4 years old (older siblings may attend and play with their little learner, but activities are designed for toddlers). Paws for Reading (6 Events)
New or struggling readers in grades 1-5 are invited to sign up for a 15-minute "Paws for Reading" session with one of our local certified therapy dogs. Dogs are excellent listeners and never interrupt! The goal is to provide a non-judgmental atmosphere in which kids can read without correction or interruption and learn not just to read, but to love reading as well. A handful of books will be available, but feel free to bring one from home. Each child will have one-on-one reading time.
