Stay and Play

Come visit us at the library with your 0-4 year olds and stay to play for awhile! We'll have toys and manipulatives out in the community center room for you to play along with your kiddos as well as chat with other parents and caregivers of young ones. This won't be a structured storytime but we will offer some books for you to enjoy together. Registration is required, but you can stop in anytime between 10am and 11:30am - no requirement to be here right at the beginning.

Friends of the Library Meeting

Rainbow Lacing Craft Children's Take-and-Make Kit

Bring a smile to rainy day faces with the Rainbow Lacing Take-and-Make Craft Kit. Each kit includes self-adhesive foam pieces, nylon cord and 1/4" plastic beads to create a cheerful rainbow. A bright and happy craft activity for school, church or at home, these hanging rainbow decorations will help to inspire kids to use their hands to follow directions. Perfect for elementary aged children, this easy project encourages motor skills in smaller hands as kids thread the colored cord through corresponding holes and tie knots to secure beads. Not for children 3 and younger. If the registration list is full, please add yourself to the waitlist, as we often have kits not picked up promptly that we can offer to the waitlist. Kits will be available to pick up in the curbside lobby (north end of the building) beginning Tuesday, February 25th. Any kits not picked up by Tuesday, March 4th will be offered to children on the wait list. Registration required.

- Paws for Reading (6 Events)

New or struggling readers in grades 1-5 are invited to sign up for a 15-minute "Paws for Reading" session with one of our local certified therapy dogs. Dogs are excellent listeners and never interrupt! The goal is to provide a non-judgmental atmosphere in which kids can read without correction or interruption and learn not just to read, but to love reading as well. A handful of books will be available, but feel free to bring one from home. Each child will have one-on-one reading time.
