Enigmatic mediums, murders, and monsters are all part of Michigan’s mysterious and sometimes supernatural history. The will of Detroit’s first millionaire, Eber B. Ward, was hotly contested because he took the financial advice of spirits. Marian Spore Bush, Bay City’s first female dentist, moved to New York City, where she became a psychic wonder—and a secret philanthropist and is a strange creature to blame when anything bad happens in Detroit?

Researcher Amberrose Hammond brings to light strange and unusual tales that display how often the paranormal has played a part in Michigan’s colorful and exciting past.

For over twenty years, Amberrose Hammond has been researching the supernatural, weird, and off-beat history of Michigan. An avid local history and cemetery enthusiast, Amberrose has lectured extensively around the state at libraries, conferences, and historical tours and has shared her love of Michigan’s high strangeness with thousands. She is the author of Ghosts & Legends of Michigan’s West Coast, Wicked Ottawa County, Wicked Grand Rapids and Mysterious Michigan.
