Join pianist David Rodgers for a trip through the heights of folk rock in the 1960s and early 1970s. Featuring solo piano performances of hits by Bob Dylan, Simon and Garfunkel, Crosby Stills and Nash, Jim Croce and many more, Rodgers will offer historical background info and stories behind the songs, musical trivia, and a question and answer session. 

Bio:

David Rodgers is a professional pianist who specializes in the evolution of popular music of the 20th century. David has performed Piano Concert Talks and other events for libraries, synagogues, churches, concert halls, festivals, weddings, bar mitzvahs, and corporate and personal events and parties. He is also a former K-12 music teacher and currently runs a piano studio in Oak Park, Michigan. David has been the in-house pianist at restaurants (Tin Fish of St. Clair Shores, MI and Northern Lakes Seafood Company of Troy, MI), senior residences (Hechtman and Meer Apartments of West Bloomfield, MI, Franklin Terrace of Southfield, MI, Parkside of Livonia, MI, Teitel of Oak Park, MI). and synagogues (Shir Tikvah of Troy, MI and B’nai Moshe of West Bloomfield, MI). David earned his music teaching certificate and studied piano under Ida Leshchinskaya at the University of Michigan-Flint.
